OK, So What…
May 14, 2010
The longer I let this blog sit dormant the more I realize I really don’t know jack about fashion. What I do know is that I LIKE fashion and therefore it makes it just fine for me to have this blog. Maybe I will keep it specific to fashion and maybe I won’t. Having said that, I do believe that “fashion” can encompass a lot. Allow your mind to remain open and the possibilities are endless.
I may not know fashion like the professionals do, or whatever, and who ever the professionals are, and that’s a whole different story all together and, yes, I have my opinions about “who” exactly the professionals are to begin with – and wow, this sentence just got way out of control. Let me try to start over.
While I do not know fashion (because I didn’t go to school and study it) I still like it and believe I can “know” it because I love it and I can experience it. No, I won’t get taken seriously, ever, and that’s OK. That is not my aim, here with the blog, anyway. This is fun for me. Once I start taking myself seriously then I am in trouble. The blog will be blank.
I have a fickle view when it comes to thinking about who, exactly, are the professionals in fashion. I have my opinion on this topic, and just like fashion, it can change on a dime. One day I may think Anna Wintour is the bomb-diggidy and the next day I may think she is an over hyped persona in the fashion industry. I am still thinkig of that article I wanted to write about comparing her to Tiger Woods (the whole over hyped by the media thing). Obviously I have never gotten around to writing it. Yet.
Upon further reflection I think I am confusing the word “professional” with the term “authority” and by this I mean that while Anna Wintour is absolutely always a professional it is my attitude towards her that changes when it comes to thinking of her as the one and only authority in fashion. Yes, I realize she is the editor of Vogue. But is she the ONLY authority on fashion? Hell no. There are all sorts of folks out there that “know” fashion. That’s all I’m saying.
So anyway, I got way off on a tangent here. I meant to just put up an entry to say that this blog will cover a variety of topics. I think I will slowly transition into THIS blog and let my OLD blog fall to the wayside. Cause damn. One good reason to transition to this blog full time is the totally awesome design by Tammy. I love it. I’m bored with my old blog, and besides, well never mind, I can’t type it here. See? Already I’m holding back. Ugh.
By the way, I don’t do Facebook (anymore) but you can find me on Twitter. My updates are set to private so you’ll have to request to follow me if you wish.
Note to self, change that gigantic photo of yourself in the sidebar. WOW.

I, too, love fashion….you just can’t really tell because while I am over-sized, I am stuck with wearing clothes for oversized people. I know that there are some pretty plus sized things out there, but I’ve never been able to find anything cute that looked right on me, so that’s why I feel the way I do.
But one of these days I will find a comfortable size and look for myself. Maybe you can help me!
